SSL Access to GitLab Container

Postby emptyfish » Sun Sep 17, 2017 6:30 am

Hi all,

I've been reading all afternoon, so apologies if this is obvious & I've just missed it in search. I have a TS-453a and an instance of GITLab running from Container station that works great inside my own network. I have a custom domain which is set up to direct to my NAS ex. nas.mydomain.com. I installed the correct certificates via LetsEncrypt and I can securely access the default site (QNAP login), but I can't seem to get gitlab to respond over ssl, ex. nas.mydomain.com:1234

Chrome just give me this: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
Firefox is slightly more helpful: An error occurred during a connection to nas.mydomain.com:1234. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

It's hard to tell if I am missing a step, or asking too much out of the GITLab container. :) Appreciate any guidance!
