Proxy issue resolved but want to mention this to qnap support

Postby Blue » Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:36 pm

Hello,

I would like mention an issue we had with our QNAP TS-453 that is behind a company proxy that needs authentication. The proxy was properly configured in the network access settings and we can download apps/firmware/etc.
We've installed the container station and couldn't connect to the docker registry, nor pull any images.

However, when trying to pull an image, we never could get through the proxy and received the error "Get https://registry-1.docker.io/v2/: Proxy Authentication Required".

We've looked into the different settings and finally made our way into the container-station.sh script. There in the function qcs_set_proxy() we found out that the file data\proxyenv was not correctly edited with our settings.
The file included multiple times this:

export HTTPS_PROXY=http://[domain][user]:[pass]@[proxyhost]:[proxyport]

The problem lies with the [domain]. We went back to "network access" and instead of having [domain]\[user] in the "username" field, we've only included [user]. This did not affect other services and the result was that the container station worked properly.

We suggest that you edit the container-station.sh script in order to delete any input in the "user" field before the / sign.

if you want to tell qnap support, open a ticket

otherwise they will not see it (community forum)
