TS-251 no UPnP router found on the network

Post by PeterHempenius » Mon Jan 13, 2020 1:09 pm

Hi,

I have my QNAP TS-251 connected to my Xfinity router (XFi advanced gateway Model Number: TG3482G, CGM4140COM). On the internal network all computers can find the NAS, either over WiFi or ethernet cable.

However, when I want to setup internet access (with myQNAPcloud - Autorouter Configuration) it reports as router status 'no UPnP router found on the network'.

Clicking on the info button tells me 'your router doesn't support UPnP or you haven't activated the UPnP function on your router'.

Clicking on the Diagnose button in myQNAPcloud, gives me the following message:
------ NAT PMP Diagnostics ------
initnatpmp() returned -3 (FAILED)
------ UPnP Diagnostics ------
upnpc : miniupnpc library test client. (c) 2006-2011 Thomas Bernard
Go to http://miniupnp.free.fr/ or http://miniupnp.tuxfamily.org/
for more information.

I have activated UPnP on the XFinity router under 'Advanced - Device Discovery - enable'.

Does anyone have a solution?

I have already updated the Firmware to 4.4.1.1146. The previous outdated Firmware gave the same issue.

Regards, Peter.

disable upnp in your router..and stop thinking about exposing your nas to the open web

if you need to access your nas from wan ..use a vpn server on router or dedicated appliance
