QuMagie photo duplicates remover - dedupe

Post by cralwalker »

I have restored backups from several cameras and disks and have many duplicates (exact duplicates) that should be easy for QuMagie to identify and offer to move/remove by one-click only. Is this a feature that is considered and under development? How can I otherwise get this on the backlog to be considered by the Product Owner :?:

Also would also like to endorse that the ability to detect and mange duplicate (or near duplicate) files/images would be extremely beneficial. Including comparing Folders

In the meantime, I have tried a number of third party duplication removal apps. They work well with small file numbers, but note that with really large file numbers, which as stated before is often the problem when having so many duplicates, the programs drop out. I am trying to work with cleaning up files from collections of 120,000 images. I have a Surface i7 pro with a 1TB drive. I have a TS451 QNAP

Appreciate any suggestions, including;

Recommended third party app that can handle large numbers of files

Settings that I should change on my Q NAP.

My ticket was closed, not sure if it was put on the dev teams' backlog. Add your own Feature ticket on https://service.qnap.com/ to vote.

Please create a feature ticket by the link I posted earlier?

That way we send a message to the Product Owner over at QNAP that there is a growing base of users that would appreciate this functionality?

Add me to it, I cannot believe that a program with these features do not have a simple way to track and delete duplicates

I also have many dupes that have been added from different devices. Is there any way to clean them up in Photos Station?

What about other ways to delete or move the dupes?
