VLAN Trunking support

Post by pingjockey » Sun Jul 26, 2020 12:04 am

Does QTS support VLAN trunking? I am looking to have iSCSI and general network traffic on the same interface using VLAN tagging on a 10GBE pipe.

For example, VLAN 4 which would be general network traffic would be 10.0.4.0/24 and vlan 10 which would be iscsi traffic on 10.0.10.0/24 .

Is this something supported? Thanks!

What Qnap calls "Port Trunking" is more of a link aggregation/failover.

From what I'm seeing in the Network & Virtual switches panel you can only assign a single VLAN to a specific adapter, and it doesn't appear you can assign VLANs to virtual adapters attached to virtual switches. I'm fairly certain the NICs are probably capable of trunking and monitoring for specific VLANs but Qnap apparently hasn't added that functionality into QTS.
