UPS Compatability - VIZIA UPS Multi-Volt 12-24V (32000mWh) Battery Bank

Post by paulds » Sun Aug 02, 2020 9:10 pm

I have the following UPS: https://www.takealot.com/vizia-ups-mult ... ID61065463

It works well for my fibre unit (ONT) and router.

I have connected the USB port of the UPS to a USB port at the back of a TS-341P and set it up to use auto-protection mode after 1 minute.

The UPS unit doesn't seem to register any info from the USB connection. I am nervous to attempt to test it by cutting the power.

Can anyone confirm that setting it up like this is going to work? Or does the NAS need to recognise the UPS for it to actually draw power from it in the event of a power failure?

The UPS outputs 5V/2.0A from its USB port.

Many thanks.

if it does not show up in the NAS UPS GUi..it's not compatible

either get a compatible UPS ..or run it as slave and get a NUT master (raspi etc)
