lost data during migration

Post by BiggieBig » Mon Aug 03, 2020 4:10 am

I did something very stupid.

I purchased a new TS453-Pro and initialised with a new single drive. I have a TS253-Pro with a single drive. I removed the drive from the TS253-Pro and inserted into TS453-Pro (bay-1) and moved the other drive into bay2 in the hope I could do a data migration. The drive is now showing the configuration of my TS453-Pro and my data has gone. I didn't get any warning about initialisation/formatting.

I inserted the drive into a windows machine and can see my data using reclaime but it seems painful to recover 800k files and 1TB of data. Also it's going to cost $200 for the license :-0 :-0
How else can I recover my data any simpler options ?

any help very much appreciated

refrain from careless actions. you need to be sure via reading how this works before you do it. don't just assume :X especially when it comes to your important data.

and before any of that, you should have had a backup to save you in any event. plz invest in a backup so regardless of whatever mishap, recovery would have been a cinch. probably something like an external usb storage such as a wd elements?
