Hi,
My old TS-219+ just runs continuously, had it since around 2010/11 with no issues whatsoever, apart from replacing drives in 2016.
I'm now wanting to purchase a replacement for it with at least the following criteria..
1. Must be 2 bay**
2. Must be able to add my 219+ drives to new NAS "seamlessly"
3. Private cloud feature might be worth considering
4. Will consider purchasing new drives to go with new NAS
Any recommendations will be greatly received and considered
**May consider a 4 drive model( with new drives) but not if I can
Thank You
eldo

Re: Replacement For TS-219+
1. there is a couple
2. No this would reault in a crippled legacy volume..don't do that..keep the old NAS as a backup (Always have backups)
3. Never ever ever expose any QNAP NAS to WAN
4. Wont work with 2. ..but new drives should be NAS rated
Do you want to run VMs or smth that your 219p+ does not do currently?

Re: Replacement For TS-219+
Thank you for responding so quickly
No, I wouldn't be running VMs,, It will be mainly central data storage (photo, music, office files and time-machine backups.
Currently using 2x2Tb HDDs but thinking on going to 2x4Tb this time

Re: Replacement For TS-219+
So basically any NAS (even cheaper ARM) should work for you

Re: Replacement For TS-219+
Thanks again, my current model has performed exemplary but is getting long in tooth, I would by same model again, if that was possible but alas it isn’t……
I’m happy to stick with Qnap but I’m unsure of the differences between the various 2 bay models, apart from the price.
I’m sure I don’t need every bell and whistle possible, and I’m happy to take guidance on what is direct current equivalent to what I have now

Re: Replacement For TS-219+
I suggest the TS-233. It’s the latest 2-bay NAS with an ARM CPU. It’s much faster than the old TS-219+.
