HybridBackupSync over Qvpn - OpenVPN

Hi Everyone.
I have 2 separate QNAP NAS's in 2 different countries and I am having trouble with getting the 2 NAS to remain connected to each other in Qsync due to the OpenVPN solution constantly changing the IP address of the client.
The current Setup:
TS453d here in Japan on a dynamically assigned IP address though our current provider, this is my Main NAS and gets the most usage out of it.
TS 253D at home in Australia on a Static IP address. This NAS only has one roll, sync data from Primary NAS.
Currently I have the 2 NAS's connected though each other using QVPN on both sides with the NAS in Australia being the VPN provider
I want that NAS to also be the one that initiates the SYNC from my main NAS, I have noted that if My main NAS (in Japan) initiates and controls the session it can bog down when doing other things at the same time however when the NAS in Australia initiates the session it is less impactful
Currently all works well until QVPN decides to change the IP address of the connected client then it all falls apart.
I have Qsync on the Australian NAS to connect to Japanese NAS via IP address as it does not appear to want to resolve the Hostname.
I don't want to set the VPN connection as the default Gateway as I only want the Sync Data to go through the VPN connection.
Is there a way to either set a Static IP address on OpenVPN for the client or have the hostname lookup work so I don't need to keep updating the IP address in Hybrid backup Sync to match the Current IP?
