TS233 Does Not Enter Sleep Mode

Post by hehenblad »

Software of this device is junk. Now, I need to decide whether the hardware should go back to the seller.

The device has two 8TB drives installed, configured as a single volume in RAID 1. EuP is enabled. Standby mode (System -> Hardware -> Enable Standby Mode) is set to 5 minutes.
Measuring power consumption at the socket – most of the time, it stays above 12W. Every 5-10 minutes, the consumption drops to 4W for a few seconds and then returns to 12W.
All possible applications in AppCenter have been disabled.

The blkdevMonitor.sh script from the forum does not work (complains about a missing .klog). The standby_debug.sh script from QNAP’s website (cd /dev/shm; wget https://eu1.qnap.com/Storage/tsd/utilit ... y_debug.sh -O standby_debug.sh ; sudo sh standby_debug.sh) generates a header but does not display any output (waited 20 minutes, then pressed CTRL+C).

Code: Select all

Look around in this sub topic, standby mode does effectively not work anymkre, as log files are constantly written to the disks.
